- The 26th edition of the Vueling Cursa Bombers Barcelona will be the event where the two athletes will seek to make history!
On November 9th, thousands of runners will fill the streets of Barcelona in the most special, supportive and long-awaited race in the Catalan capital: there are no more bib numbers available for the Vueling Cursa Bombers Barcelona 2025!
Once again, the Vueling Cursa Bombers Barcelona 2025 promises to be a historic edition, with a fast circuit -returning to Via Laietana-, a spectacular atmosphere and thousands of runners filling the streets. But it will not only be a celebration of sport, but also a high-level challenge in which an attempt will be made to break an absolute record.
Marta Galimany and Meritxell Soler, two of the best Catalan long-distance runners, will try to break the Catalan 10K record, currently held by Rosa Maria Morató with a time of 32:06, on the city’s most emblematic route, undoubtedly another incentive to enjoy one of the great running festivals in our country.
Marta Galimany
A few days after turning 40, the athlete from Valls will participate in the Vueling Cursa Bombers Barcelona with the aim of achieving the absolute record of Catalonia in the 10km, since in the last few hours, his mark of 1:10:01 has ceased to be the fastest in the half marathon (21km).
One of the great references of the fund achieved her (for now) greatest milestone on December 4, 2022, when she established a new Spanish marathon record with a time of 2:26:14, improving a record that had been in force since 1995.
This 2025 is being equally brilliant, as she recently achieved her personal best in 10 km on the road with a record of 32:19 in Berlin, a fantastic time -only thirteen seconds more than the current record of Catalonia- and which came ten months after becoming a mother, and she also obtained a great mark in the Chicago Marathon.
Only once the race is over will we know if the Catalan 10k record has been broken. But what is certain is that the 26th edition of the Vueling Cursa Bombers Barcelona will be a record for female participation. 41% of the 18,000 runners who will take part in the race will be women, a total of 7,451.
Meritxell Soler
And who has taken the Catalan half marathon record from Marta Galimany? Well, the other great reference of national athletics.
Meritxell Soler has achieved a new Catalan record in the Valencia Half Marathon with a final time of 1:09:46, a record that represents a considerable improvement on her previous best mark (1:10:21) and that surpasses the record held by Marta Galimany (1:10:01).

The athlete from Sant Joan de Vilatorrada is the fastest Catalan in the 21km and also in the 42km, since with a time of 2:24:57, she is the fastest marathon runner in Catalonia. Meritxell Soler will thus seek her personal treble and try to achieve another Catalan record in a race that she knows perfectly, since she already won the Vueling Cursa Bombers Barcelona in the 2021, 2022 and 2024 editions, reaffirming herself as one of the great female references in the world of running.
