- This 2025, the Vueling Cursa Bombers Barcelona recovers one of its most characteristic and historic locations in Barcelona
The Vueling Cursa Bombers Barcelona 2025 arrives on November 9 with a notable novelty: the race will recover its original route with the return to Via Laietana, one of the most iconic and beloved sections by participants. After more than three years of works and renovations, this historic street is once again part of the official route, but do you know the secrets it hides?

The most anticipated descent
Returning to Via Laietana is great news for everyone, as we are recovering the historic circuit, especially for the runners. The route of the Vueling Cursa Bombers Barcelona will make the most of its negative gradient so that all runners can improve their personal bests.

Over two metro stations
Thousands of people travel either on foot or on wheels along Via Laietana, but very few know that two metro stations, now in disuse, are hidden underground. The first, the Banc stop, never came into operation; the second, the Correos stop, offered service until 1972.

Three different names
Today, everyone knows it as Via Laietana, but it wasn’t always called that. The first name this iconic street in the Catalan capital had was Gran Via A, while during the Spanish Civil War, it was called Via Durruti, in homage to the anarchist leader.

A tribute to the Iberians
Its third and final name is dedicated to the Iberian tribe of the Laietans, ancient inhabitants of the area that is now Barcelona.

Roman remains from the 5th century
Recently, a team of archaeologists found the remains of a Roman corpse from over 1,500 years ago, further proof that Via Laietana is one of the streets with the most history, to put it bluntly, in Barcelona.
