Abdessamad Oukhelfen and Laura Rodriguez have been the first champions of the new circuit of the Vueling Cursa Bombers Barcelona in this 24th edition. Last Sunday, more than 12,000 participants experienced one of the most popular races in the city of Barcelona, 42 elite athletes joined the challenge to test and improve their times in the new 10K of the race.

Abdessamad Oukhelfen returned to the podium of the Vueling Cursa de Bombers, with a time of 28 minutes and 42 seconds. “It is always a pleasure to run in Barcelona and in such an emblematic race as the Vueling Cursa Bombers Barcelona”.

Oukhelfen showed a great strategy, during the 7 km he was fighting for the first place with Mohamed El Ghazouany, “The slight rise of KM8 allowed me to win, then I changed the pace and I left Mohamed behind, increasing the pace and facing the last KM downhill at 2.67 minutes per KM”. The podium was completed by Ibrahim Ezzaydouni Ben Abdeljalil.

In the women’s category, Laura Rodriguez crossed the finish line in 34 minutes and 12 seconds, beating her personal best “This circuit has given me very good feelings, I came from a complicated week on a personal level and doing my best time in the Vueling Cursa Bombers Barcelona is for me an indescribable feeling,” said Laura visibly excited. Cristina Silva, managed to move up one place from last year’s edition, the Catalan finished with the silver medal with a time of 34:27 minutes, Douae Ouboukir, completed the podium.

Adrià Duarri and Mireia Quiroz were the first firefighters to cross the finish line, dressed in the fire suit, Quiroz and Duarri took home the trophy and also the recognition of all their colleagues in the fire brigade.
