Vueling and Barcelona Firefighters join forces again for the “Vueling Cursa de Bombers 2023”

Next Sunday, October 22nd, one of the most emblematic running events in Barcelona will be held: the Vueling Cursa Bombers 2023. For the third consecutive year, Vueling, a company belonging to the IAG group, supports this race as the main sponsor. Thus, the airline is present in the main cultural, leisure and sports events and initiatives in the city.

In the previous edition, more than 12,000 runners and 300 Barcelona firemen and firewomen in their service uniforms joined more than 200 Vueling employees to share a 10-kilometer course in this emblematic race through the city. In addition, this year the organization will try to outdo itself, as the race route is even faster thanks to its new 360-degree course, with one less curve than usual. The new circuit starts at Passeig de Picasso and cuts 200 meters in Avinguda Paral-lel which will allow the runner to be faster and avoid meters of the most difficult part of the previous circuit. In addition, for the first time, thousands of runners will run through the Poblenou neighborhood. This new course has been designed to allow experienced runners to beat their personal bests and beginners to complete the race with greater ease.

According to Carolyn Prowse, Chief Commercial, Customer, Strategy & Network of Vueling, “Barcelona is our main hub and, therefore, from Vueling we participate and support the most relevant events held in the city. This race is an example of solidarity, health and cooperation among all participants and we are very proud to be part of it”.

More than 12,000 runners experienced the last edition of the Vueling Cursa de bombers, a day full of sport and festive atmosphere in equal parts that is expected to be repeated next Sunday, October 22.
