REGULATIONS 2026

Article 1. Organization

The Cursa Bombers Barcelona is organised by Barcelona City Council. The event promoter and executive organiser is the UTE BOMBERS Relay Events – Sport Life Ibérica – Prensa Ibérica.

The race is supported by the Barcelona Fire Brigade (Bombers de Barcelona), the Catalan Athletics Federation (Federació Catalana d’Atletisme), and other public and private organisations involved in the delivery of the event.

Article 2. Race Characteristics

The Barcelona Firefighters Race 2026 will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2026, in the city of Barcelona over a distance of 10 kilometers, certified by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA).

The race will also serve as the Catalan Absolute and Masters 10K Championship, organized jointly with the Catalan Athletics Federation (FCA). Participation in the Catalan Championship will be governed by the specific regulations of the Catalan Firefighters Federation (FCA) and will require compliance with the registration requirements established by said federation, in addition to registration for the Barcelona Firefighters Race.

The starting line will be located on Av. Marquès de l'Argentera, in front of the França Station, and will be divided into different starting corrals, in accordance with the established technical and safety criteria.

The first start will take place at 8:50 a.m.

The finish line will be located on Av. Marquès de l'Argentera, in front of the França Station, the same location as the start.

Article 3. Participation

The race is open to all individuals who have correctly completed their registration and accepted these regulations.

The minimum age to participate is 16 years old on the day of the race.

Participants under 18 years of age must have express authorization from their father, mother, or legal guardian.

3.1. Participation of Athletes with Disabilities
Athletes with disabilities will be allowed to participate in accordance with applicable regulations and the safety conditions of the event.

Participants with visual impairments may participate accompanied by a properly identified guide.

3.2. Wheelchairs and Authorized Devices
Participation with a sports wheelchair or athletic cart will be permitted.
Participation with a handbike or any other device that could compromise the safety of the event will not be permitted.

Article 4. Course

The course will be properly marked and monitored by the organizers. Kilometer markers and intermediate checkpoints will be installed.
The organizers may modify the course for technical, safety, or force majeure reasons.
The course is certified by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA).

Article 5. Starting Corrals

Participants will be assigned to different starting corrals according to their qualifying time or the estimated time declared during registration. The organizers may modify the starting corral assignments when deemed necessary for technical or organizational reasons.

  • • Black Corral: Elite
  • • Senyera Corral: Catalan Championship
  • • Red Corral: Under 35 minutes
  • • Yellow Corral: Under 37 minutes
  • • White Corral: Under 40 minutes
  • • Blue Corral: Under 45 minutes
  • • Pink Corral: Under 50 minutes
  • • Green Corral: Under 55 minutes
  • • Orange Corral: Under 1 hour
  • • Gray Corral: Under 1 hour 10 minutes
  • • Lilac Corral: Under 1 hour 20 minutes
  • • Brown Corral: Under 1 hour 30 minutes

Article 6. Registration

6.1. Registration Fee
Registration for the 2026 Barcelona Firefighters Race has a variable cost depending on the registration period, plus an additional €1.99 for administrative costs and a charitable contribution.

6.2. Registration Details and Method. Tiers and Prices
Registration is personal and nominative, and will be conducted exclusively through the Rockthesport platform until November 1st at 11:59 PM or until the 15,000 available bib numbers are sold out, according to the following tiers and prices:

  • • First tier: registrations 1 to 5,000 → €16 + €1.99 + €1 one-day licence (non-affiliated runners)
  • • Second tier: registrations 5,001 to 10,000 → €18 + €1.99 + €1 one-day licence (non-affiliated runners)
  • • Third tier: registrations from 10,001 until sold out → €20 + €1.99 + €1 one-day licence (non-affiliated runners)

Considerations:

  • • The organizers may establish different registration tiers, promotions, or special campaigns, which will be communicated through the event's official channels.
  • • The organizers may modify registration deadlines for organizational, technical, or security reasons.
  • • The organizers reserve the right to close registration once the maximum limit of 15,000 participants for the race has been reached.

6.3. Catalan Absolute and Masters 10K Championship
The 2026 Barcelona Firefighters Race will host the Catalan Absolute and Masters 10K Championship of the Catalan Athletics Federation (FCA). Athletes wishing to participate in the Catalan Championship must complete the following steps:

  • Complete the registration form
  • Registration for the Catalan Championships is through the Callroom platform: https://atletismorfea.es/user/login-registro.
  • Independent athletes can also register through Callroom or by sending an email to jgraells@fcatletisme.cat.
  • In addition to Callroom registration, registration for the Barcelona Firefighters Race is mandatory through the official website https://cursadebombers.barcelona/, paying the corresponding registration fee.
  • The registration deadline for the Catalan Championships will be determined by the Catalan Athletics Federation and will be communicated in due course through the official channels of the FCA and the organizers.

The final list of athletes admitted to the Catalan Championships will be published by the Catalan Athletics Federation on its official website.

6.4. Cancellation Policy
Once registration is complete, no refunds will be issued under any circumstances. In the event of suspension, postponement, or change of date due to force majeure, the organizers may offer alternatives such as maintaining the registration for the new date or for the following edition.

6.5. Solidarity Commitment
Registration for the 2026 Barcelona Firefighters Race implies collaboration with the charitable initiatives promoted by the Impulsa Foundation. For this reason, €1 of the €1.99 corresponding to the administrative and charitable contribution fees for each registration will be entirely allocated to non-profit charitable projects of the Impulsa Foundation.

6.6. Change of Registration
If you are ultimately unable to participate, the organizers will provide an official procedure for changing the registration name, which can be done until October 19th and will cost €5. Through this process, you can securely manage the change, ensuring that the registration is correctly associated with the new participant.

The transfer, sale, or exchange of race numbers is not permitted through any means other than the official procedure established by the organizers. Any race number transferred without authorization may be canceled, and its holder will not be allowed to participate in the race.

Article 7. Maximum Time

The maximum time allowed to complete the race is 1 hour and 30 minutes from the start of the last starting corral.

The organizers may remove from the course any participants who exceed the established cut-off times.

Article 8. Categories

The following categories are established:

  • • Men's Open
  • • Women's Open
  • • Under-23: 16 to 22 years old
  • • Senior: 23 to 34 years old
  • • M35: 35 to 39 years old
  • • M40: 40 to 44 years old
  • • M45: 45 to 49 years old
  • • M50: 50 to 54 years old
  • • M55: 55 to 59 years old
  • • M60: 60 to 64 years old
  • • M65: 65 to 69 years old
  • • M70 and over

The age considered will be the age reached by December 31, 2026.

Article 9. Bib Number, Runner's Bag, and T-Shirt Collection

Bib numbers and runner's bags can be collected on the days, times, and locations indicated by the organizers. An official ID and proof of registration are required.

It will be possible to collect someone else's race number by presenting their registration confirmation and a photocopy of their ID.

T-shirt sizes will be distributed strictly in the order in which race numbers are collected. The organizers cannot guarantee that all participants will receive their requested t-shirt size, as production begins before registration opens.

Article 10. Services

10.1. Timing
The organizers will provide each participant with a timing chip that must be attached to their shoe to accurately record their race time. Participation with the yellow chip is not permitted.

If you collect your race number but ultimately do not participate in the race, please remember to return the chip to the designated areas.

If, for any reason, you cannot return your timing chip on race day, you can mail it to the following address: Relay Events. Ronda General Mitre 93 3º1B. 08022 Barcelona

Failure to return the chip will incur a €5 charge.

10.2. Aid Stations
The organizers will provide a liquid refreshment station approximately at kilometer 5 and a final aid station at the finish line. The exact location will be communicated in advance through the official event channels.

10.3. Medical Services
The race will have medical personnel on site.

Medical personnel may remove any participant from the competition if they deem their physical condition may pose a risk to their health.

10.4. Baggage Check
The organizers will provide a baggage check service for all registered participants of the Cursa de Bombers Barcelona. This service will be available on the day of the event and will allow you to store your personal belongings before the start of the race and collect them afterward.

10.5. Insurance
The organization will have the mandatory insurance required by current legislation.

10.6. Photography Service
The organization will provide a professional photography service, at exclusive prices, for those participants who wish to take home a memorable souvenir of their participation in the race.

10.7. Course Closed to Traffic
The course will be completely closed to traffic, from the first to the last participant.

Article 11. Classifications

Official male and female classifications will be compiled using official times.

The organization may establish additional classifications.

Article 12. Prizes

Trophies will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the overall classification.

The first male and female firefighters to finish will also receive a prize.

In connection with the Catalan Absolute and Masters 10K Championship, the Catalan Athletics Federation (FCA) will establish the corresponding classifications and prizes for said championship, in accordance with its current regulations. These prizes will be separate from those awarded by the Barcelona Firefighters Race organizers.

The organizers may establish additional special prizes.

Article 13. Disqualifications

The following will be grounds for disqualification:

  • • Failure to complete the entire course.
  • • Participating with another person's race number.
  • • Not wearing the race number visibly.
  • • Receiving unauthorized external assistance.
  • • Displaying unsportsmanlike conduct.

Failure to comply with the organizers' instructions.

Article 14. Authorized Vehicles

Only vehicles expressly authorized by the organizers may follow the race.

Article 15. Safety and Liability

Participation in the event is at the participants' own risk and responsibility.

By registering, participants declare themselves physically fit to complete any of the proposed courses.

The organizers decline all responsibility for any damages that participants may cause during the race, whether to themselves or to third parties.

The organization will have the mandatory insurance required by current legislation.

Article 16. Data Protection

Personal data provided during registration will be processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Organic Law 3/2018, and other applicable regulations.

The data will be used for race management, rankings, communications related to the event, and for any other purposes accepted by the participant during the registration process.

Article 17. Image Rights

Participation in the 2026 Barcelona Firefighters Race implies express authorization for the capture, reproduction, and dissemination of photographs, videos, and recordings made during the event for informational, promotional, and commercial purposes related to the race.

Article 18. Environment and Sustainability

Participants must respect the urban environment and use the designated areas for waste disposal.

The organization will promote measures aimed at minimizing the environmental impact of the event.

Article 19. Complaints

All sporting complaints must be submitted to the race director within thirty minutes of the provisional publication of results and will incur a fee of €20.

The decisions made by the organizers and the technical committee will be final.

Article 20. Exceptional Situations

The organizers may modify schedules, routes, capacity limits, or participation conditions in the event of safety concerns, emergencies, adverse weather conditions, or requirements from the competent authorities.

Article 21. Acceptance of the Regulations

Registration for the 2026 Barcelona Firefighters Race implies full acceptance of these regulations and the rules of the Catalan Athletics Federation applicable to road races.

The organizers will resolve any situation not covered by these regulations.
