1. The fastest 10K in Barcelona<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n

The fastest 10Km in Barcelona can only be run in the Bombers race. This is evidenced by its flat and downhill course, as well as two records – male and female – and two new records, one for men and one for women.<\/h3>\n

The Kenyan runner, Irene Kwambai<\/strong>, in 2005 set the female record<\/strong> at 31′ 25” minutes<\/em><\/strong>, the male record took 5 more years to arrive<\/strong>, in 2010, her compatriot Josphat Menjo<\/strong>, with 27′ 04” minutes<\/em><\/strong>, certified the race as the fastest in Barcelona.<\/h3>\n

2. Bombers i bomberes de Barcelona<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n

The main attraction<\/strong> of the race is to see the city’s firemen and firewomen run<\/strong>, with all their equipment<\/strong>: uniform, helmet and oxygen blister, more than 20Kg! A challenge that more than 350 firefighters repeat edition after edition during the epic 10Km.<\/h3>\n

As has become a tradition, the Barcelona firefighters are the first to start, leading the way for all the registered runners.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

3. 12.000\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

This is the total number of runners in the last edition<\/strong> of the Vueling Cursa Bombers Barcelona. More than 12,000 runners took to the streets of Barcelona<\/strong> on 23 October 2022, making the Vueling Cursa de Bombers the race with the most participants <\/strong>post COVID19.<\/h3>\n

4.Solidarity Race<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

The Vueling Cursa de Bombers<\/strong> is also the only race with two podiums: sporting<\/strong> and solidarity<\/strong>.<\/h3>\n

Since its beginnings, the Fire Brigade has been linked to Bombers Solidaris<\/em>, a non-profit organisation<\/strong> formed by members of the Barcelona Fire Brigade, which promotes various solidarity projects.<\/h3>\n

Runners of the Cursa de Bombers can, through the migranodearena platform, contribute money to some of the challenges promoted by members of the Fire Brigade. Last year, the platform promoted 11 solidarity challenges that raised more than \u20ac20,000 in total.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Everyone can join the challenge of the Vueling Cursa de Bombers<\/strong>, various associations such as “Corre amb mi”<\/em> or “Incluyendo Sonrisas”<\/em> do not miss the appointment with the race and ensure that all participants of their associations successfully meet the challenge of enjoying a festive 10Km, either on a wheeled bike, adapted cars or with the help of firefighters, runners and members of the associations. La Bombers is for everyone.<\/h3>\n

6. Girls just wanna go running\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

For some years now, female participation in the popular races has been increasing. The number of women runners is also growing year after year, and last year’s edition reached a record with 38.40% female participation.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Meritxell Soler,<\/strong> as the standard-bearer for women runners, has won the Vueling Cursa de Bombers<\/strong> for the second consecutive year, setting her record at 33:20 minutes.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

7. La festa del running\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

The start of all the runners is a party, in the 24 editions<\/strong> the starts of the race have been very varied, some of them entertained by Andreu Preses, announcer of R\u00e0dio Flaixbac or the companions of SpeakersPro, who make the race a total party!<\/h3>\n

One of the most memorable races is the one in 2019, when the Catalan music group Doctor Prats offered a small concert at the top of the starting arch, to the rhythm of their hit “Les nits no moren mai”<\/em> with which all the runners of the race started the 10K.<\/h3>\n

8. 130\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

The number of volunteers who take part in making the Cursa de Bombers<\/strong> a success, an essential task that has been carried out by Voluntaris 2.000<\/em> for years.<\/h3>\n

They work hard: helping to collect the race bibs at the Decathlon stores, coordinating the rescue team minutes before the race, coordinating the starting blocks so that all the runners can enjoy the experience and also the refreshment points. Without them the race would not be possible.<\/h3>\n

9. Humberto Mauri 23\/23 Bombers\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

Humberto Mauri,<\/strong> a 74-year-old runner from Barcelona<\/strong>, has run all the Vueling Cursa de Bombers<\/em> since 1999<\/strong>, the first edition of the race. In an interview last year with Diari Ara, the runner highlighted the ease of the course.<\/h3>\n

With statistics showing that more than 35.4% of the registered runners are running the Cursa de Bombers for the first time<\/strong>, many people consider that the firefighters’ race is a good starting point to begin running races.<\/h3>\n
